The Megamaster 5 Pin Ignition Module is an integral part of the gas braai which creates the spark that ignites with the gas to create the flame. The number of pins correlates to the number of burners that your gas braai has. Suitable for a 4 burner gas braai with a side burner. Uses an AA battery.

How do I replace the ignition module?

Step by step:

  1. Unscrew the module cap and plastic nut.
  2. Disconnect the wires from the module. 
  3. Remove the old module and dispose of it safely. 
  4. Take the new module and unscrew the cap and plastic nut. 
  5. Attach igniter wires to the new module. 
  6. Insert the new module in the correct position and screw the plastic nut until it is secure.
  7. Ensure the plastic is removed from the new battery before inserting it into the module. 
  8. Insert the battery with the positive side towards you and screw the ignitor button on the top.
  9. Press to make sure it ignites. 
What do I do if the ignition module is not sparking?
  • Make sure there is a battery inside the module.
  • Make sure the battery is facing the positive side towards you. 
  • Make sure the plastic has been taken off around the battery. 
  • If the battery is installed properly, and you’ve tried a new battery, replace the module.

I installed the module as I seen on YouTube and inserted the battery. I tried to operate it but with any success. The module came in a box but with no support. Module flipped all around the box. Not to happy.
