Cooking with your cast iron Jaffle Iron for the first time

Wash out thoroughly with hot soapy water and a scouring pad. Leave to dry.
Coat the inside with any cooking oil and heat till the oil begins to smoke.
Allow the Jaffle Iron to cool.
Wipe inside clean with a paper towel. Repeat this process until the paper towel wipes clean.
The Jaffle Iron is now ready for use.

How to care for your cast iron Jaffle Iron?

After each use wash, dry and coat the inside with any cooking oil.
Not dishwasher safe.
Do not use sharp/metal utensils in your Jaffle Iron.
Wrap Iron in newspaper and store in a dry place.

How to use your cast iron Jaffle Iron?

If you’re cooking for the first time, refer to ‘Cooking with your Jaffle Iron’ before use.
Pre-heat the Jaffle Iron on any heat source while you start making your first sandwich.
Spray with ‘Spray and Cook’ to ensure the Jaffle doesn’t stick.
Butter 2 slices of bread and put your first slice of bread with the butter on the outside into the Jaffle Iron.
Place filling in the circle in the middle of your bread. Make sure not to use an extremely saucy filling as it could make your Jaffle soggy.
Put the second slice of bread on top with the butter on the outside.
Cut off the excess bits of the bread.
Turn regularly for about 5 minutes.
Carefully open your Jaffle Iron, if your sandwich is golden brown, you’re good to go.

How to remove rust from your cast iron Jaffle Iron?

Use fine steel wool with hot soapy water and scour until the rust is removed.
Wash out thoroughly with hot soapy water and a scouring pad. Leave to dry
Coat the inside with any cooking oil and heat till the oil begins to smoke.
Allow the Jaffle Iron to cool.
Wipe inside clean with a paper towel. Repeat this process until the paper towel wipes clean.
The Jaffle Iron is now ready for use.
