As the heat travels upward towards your chimney, it passes through an extra chamber where more cold air gets injected through a vent at the back of your fireplace. It combusts again, creating more heat before it escapes through your fireplace.

We only recommend the use of the 150mm Stainless Steel Installation Kits because it can hold the high heat that is produced by the closed combustion fireplaces. The stainless steel also produces heat which adds to warming your home. The silver of the stainless steel flue pipes changes in colour from silver to a warm brassy colour. 

The ventilation system is referred to as the Eplus ventilation system.

The Eplus slider controls the air intake. This system ensures less firewood is used and generates high heat output. When you reach the ideal temperature, you regulate how much air goes in and out depending on where the slider is situated.

In the – position, the air intake is less.

In the + position, the air intake is more.

In the E position, the ventilation is fully open. In this position, maximum combustion is generated and should only be used to light the fireplace.

The air vents are never completely closed, In order for there to be safe combustion, there must be a constant air flow entering the fireplace, so the fire does not suffocate and to prevent the fire from dying.

The burning time will vary depending on the length of the flue, dryness of the wood, and the amount of wood used. The estimated burn time on a low setting is approximately 6 hours.

The maximum log length is 35 cm.

We only recommend the use of dry untreated wood also known as seasoned wood. Using anthracite will cause damage to your fireplace due to the high temperature that it burns at. Using anthracite in your Megamaster fireplace will cause the warranty to fall away because it causes damage to the fireplace and shortens the lifespan of your fireplace.

You should only use well-dried wood (also sometimes referred to as “seasoned wood”) in your fireplace. Source well-dried wood from a reputable wood supplier, as green wood will release moisture that can cause your fireplace to rust on the inside, and it also won’t burn as “clean” as it should. Importantly, using green wood can shorten the lifespan of your fireplace. Using pine wood is a big no-no, as its high sap content produces tarry smoke that can coat the inside of your fireplace and chimney and create a fire hazard. The best wood to burn in your fireplace would be a hardwood like black wattle and blue gum, which burns for longer and consistently to provide a good amount of heat for a longer period. 

You can use a damp cloth, dab it in the ashes in your fireplace and then wipe the glass. The ash cleans the glass easily and it doesn’t cost you anything. If you are using any glass cleaners, please ensure that it is well rinsed off and dry leaving no residue before you use your fireplace.
