1000 Sizzler Built-In Braai (Cowl included)

Rust is the result of corroding steel after the iron particles have been exposed to oxygen and/or moisture and environmental factors. Due to the high heat of the fire process, the braai needs to be maintained regularly. We recommend inspection and maintenance to be done yearly. Should you live in coastal areas we recommend quarterly inspections and maintenance due to the high salt and moisture content in the air.

We recommend that you clean your braai after every use, remove the ash and wash it with soapy water wipe it down and make sure that it is dry. Do not use any sharp objects that can scratch or damage your braai. Maintaining your braai will improve longevity and prevent the need for major refurbishments or replacing your unit.

We recommend that you use a DTM (Direct to metal) heat resistant paint. This can be purchased directly from the Megamaster Customer Service Department or you can purchase this from any hardware store. You simply need to sand down your braai to the raw metal, remove any existing paint or any rust patches then paint with the DTM heat resistant paint. This should be done yearly or as often as required.

The recommended height is generally between 80 cm to 90 cm off the floor.

The Ember maker is used to start the fire. Not all Megamaster Built-in Braai’s can fit an Ember maker, the 750mm Built-In Braais do not fit an ember maker, the 1000mm and 1200mm Built-in braai’s come standard with an ember maker.
