This will depend on how you take care of your patio gas braai, if you follow all the guidelines, clean it after every use, keep it out of direct weather elements, and purchase a protective cover for it, then your unit will last a long time.

We recommend that you use our Braai Degreaser or the Stainless Steel Cleaner they work the best and it is easy to clean with. You can also use warm water with dishwashing liquid.

1. Let the braai cool down after use.
2. Remove the flame tamers, warming rack, grease tray, and cooking grids.
3. Use a sponge and light soap mixed with lukewarm water.
4. Clean all smaller items separately, and then clean the unit itself after.
5. Start cleaning the unit from the inside out, make sure to remove all grease from the unit.
6. Rinse the outside of the braai with water.
7. Wipe it with a clean dry cloth.
8. Place all the smaller items back onto the unit.

The easiest way to clean the grids is immediately after you have finished braaiing. Make sure you have put the gas off.

1. Wear a glove to protect your hand from the heat and steam. 
2. Dip a brass bristle cleaning brush in water and scrub the hot grids. 
3. Dip the brush frequently in the bowl of water with some dishwashing liquid. 

Steam, created as water contacts the hot grids, assists the cleaning process by softening any food particles. If the grids cool before cleaning, cleaning will be more difficult. Remember to dry the cast iron grids properly afterwards (don’t leave them to drip dry as rust can occur if left for too long) and remember to treat them with vegetable oil.
