Which side of the built-in braai should the ember maker be fitted?

We recommend that you have your ember maker fitted on the right side of your built-in braai, due to the light fitting being on the left side of the unit. Excessive heat could potentially damage the light fitting and cause the light bulb to burst however the 1200mm built-in braai can have the ember maker placed in the middle with 2x smaller grids on either side.

What is the ashtray drawer used for?

The ashtray is an optional extra that you would need to purchase separately. The ashtray is used for easy and convenient cleaning.

What is the oven drawer used for?

The oven is an optional extra that you would need to purchase separately. The oven can be used to keep your meat warm once taken off the braai, it can also be used to warm up garlic bread and side dishes or it could be used as an extra storage space for your cooking utensils.

Which paint should I use to refurbish my built-in braai?

We recommend that you use a DTM (Direct to metal) heat resistant paint. This can be purchased directly from the Megamaster Customer Service Department or you can purchase this from any hardware store. You simply need to sand down your braai to the raw metal, remove any existing paint or any rust patches then paint with the DTM heat resistant paint. This should be done yearly or as often as required.
